Italian Sausage Clafouzza(SM)
The Clafouzza(SM) is a combination of a cafloutis(a French dessert pancake)with a pizza
Clafouzza Batter:
Ingredients:
1 cp milk
3 large eggs
1/3 cp all purpose flour
2 tbsp olive oil
Instruction:
Put all ingredients into a blender and mix on high speed for 1 minute.
Clafouzza Filling
Ingredients:
1/4 lb of Italian sausage cut into 1/4" round slices
1/2 cp Italian tomato sauce
1 cp grated mozzarella cheese
Instruction:
Brown the Italian sausage pieces until cooked through (about 5 minutes)
To make the finished clafouzza:
1 - Pour one fourth of the batter into the bottom of a black iron skillet
(or other oven-proof skillet).
2 - Heat at medium or low setting for 1 or 2 minutes (until batter begins to set)
3 - Remove from the burner, then evenly spread the tomato sauce, sausage, and
grated mozzarella over the "preset" batter.
4 - Pour the remaining batter evenly over it and bake in a preheated 400 degree
oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the batter has turned golden brown,
