Buckwheat Kasha
1 lb whole buckwheat
1 1/2 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
2 cps boiling waqter
1 egg
1/2 cp pan fried onions
Instructions
1 - Melt the butter and brown then buckwheat in it.
2 - Add the salt and boiling water.
3 - Cook in a double boiler, like any cereal, about 3 hours, adding more water as needed
4 - When done it should be quite dry, like cracked wheat.
5 - Stir in the egg mixed with the pan fried onion and use as a vegetable, or stuffing for any meat.
