Caramel Cake
Ingredients
1/3 cp shortening
1 cp sugar
2 cps cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cp milk
2/3 tsp vanilla
3 egg whites
caraqmel frosting
Instructions
1 - Cream the shortening and sugar.
2 - Mix and sift the cake flour, baking powder, and salt; and add to the first mixture
alternatively with the milk.
3 - Stir in the vanilla; and fold in the egg whites, shipped stiff.
4 - Transfer to an oiled cake paqn; and bake in a moderately hot oven, 375 degrees F. for about 35 minutes.
5 - Cover with caramel frosting.
