Apple Roll
2 cps finely chopped apples
1/2 cp sugar and 1/2 cp honey (or 1 cup cugar)
1 cp water
Dough
1 cp sifted enriched all-purpose flour 3 tbsp shortening 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp sugar 1/3 - 1/2 cp milk
Instructions
1 - Boil sugar, honey and water together to make a syrup.
2 - Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together.
3 - Cut in shortening and add milk to make a fairly soft dough
4 - Roll out on floured board to rectangular shape about 1/4" thick
5 - Spread apples over dough and roll like a cinnamon roll.
6 - Cut into 1 inch lengths and place cut side up in a greased
6" X 10" utility dish or pan.
7 - Sprinkle with just a little cinnamon, pour hot syrup over the rolls
and bake at once in a preheated 450 degree oven for 25 minutes.
