Homemade Biscuit Mix
8 cps all-purpose enriched flour
1/2 cp baking powder
4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cps shortening
Instructions
1 - Sift the flour and measure.
2 - Sift again with baking powder and salt.
3 - Cut in shortening until mixture has a fine even crumb.
4 - Keep in a covered container in the refrigerator, using as desired.
5 - Makes 5 batches with 2 cps of mix to the batch.
6 - For 2 people 1 cp of mix will make sufficient biscuits.
7 - Add only sufficient milk to make a dough easy to handle.
8 - Especially handy to keep on hand for hot breads when family
members work on different shifts.
9 - Also may be used as basis for biscuits, dumplings, shortcake,
waffles, muffins, quick coffee cake, etc.
