Bean Chowder
1 cp navy beans
1 1/2 qts cold water
1 cp diced carrots
1 cp tomatoes
1 1/2 cp shredded green pepper
1 onion, cut fine
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp all-purpose enriched flour
2 cps milk
1/8 tsp pepper
Instructions
1 - Wash beans, add cold water and soak overnight.
2 - Bring tom a boil in a covered utensil then turn to simmer heat.
3 - When beans are nearly tender, add vegetables and cook
until all is tender.
4 - Add salt and flour that has been mixed with a little cold water.
5 - Stir well and cook about 10 minutes.
6 - Add milk and pepper.
7 - Heat to boiling point and serve.
