Happy New Year to everyone reading this!

Ron Paul is (IMHO) the only candidate who is IN the mainstream. Contrary to what Rick Santorum, (obviously in sync with the Military Industrial Complex that President Eisenhower warned us about,) the MAINSTREAM is the PEOPLE. The PEOPLE understand that the president and most of the other candidates are OUT of the mainstream, because they are OUT of sync with the PEOPLE. Rick also makes the claim that he is the most electible. If that were really true then why could he not even win an election in PA when he had the advantage of being an incumbent. If he couldn't win in PA, how does he think he can win all over the country?

I think if the Republicans put up a candidate like Rick, it's almost like a guarantee of 4 more years of our current administration. - Frank

I happened to listen to an interview on Fox News this AM which to me represented one of the most biased reports I have heard from any network. The interviewer and the interviewee (neither of which was Ron Paul) kept telling each other how "dangerous" he is. This news organization has downplayed and ignored Ron Paul up to the point when he seems to be tied for the lead in the polls in Iowa. Now they are being forced to pay attention or risk losing their audience.

The "dangerous" people (and organizations) are the people who are calling for aggressive military policies that have been practiced by this country in the last several years. All of the "establishment" candidates (except Ron Paul) on the Republican side are the ones who are going to continue to put us in danger by trying to police the world.

Ron Paul is the LEAST dangerous of the candidates. He has shown that he is not against the military people or our naational defense. He is against military "adventurism", as p;ractised in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Why should our elected public (servants)? get raises of over 3%* when:

1 - Our economy is in terrible shape and many in the private sector are lucky to get any kind of raise, much less even hold onto their jobs.

2 - Social Security recipients got 0%(nil,nada,zip) for 2 years now although there's a rumor the 2% COLA might be honored next year. (Guess the administration in DC needs the votes of these folks in a presidential election year).

3 - Are county officials really 50 % better than Social Security Recipients 3% COLA for County Officials vs 2 % COLA for Social Security Recipients. (Maybe their limousines cost more than those Seniors use) Sorry, I forgot, those are already provided for the officials.

Note - Isn't the timing of the raises interesting. The changes were made BEFORE the election last month, instead of after. The Public Officials think us dumb old voters will forget by the time the next county elections roll around.

Social Security recipients living in Pennsylvania would have their taxes raised by 300 % by Republican Presidential hopeful Herman Cain. His so-called "999" plan will have us all calling "911".

The plan would include a 9% sales tax, a 9 % corporation tax, and a 9% income tax.

*The 9% sales tax would add to the already 6% (except Allegheny and Philadelphia which have a 7% sales tax) Pennsylvania Sales Tax to give residents a 15% sales tax (16 % in Allegheny and Philadelphia Counties)

*The 9 % corporate tax will of course be passed on to consumers by raising prices.

*The 9% Income tax would not affect most of those retired on Social Security.

What the 9-9-9 plan means to many seniors on Social Security is a tax of 6+9%(Sales Tax)+9%(Increased prices in Corporate Tax). In effect, this raises the sales tax for Pennsylvanians to 24%.

Percentage-wise this is 400 % of what they are now.

If you subtract the COLA's for Social Security, which we should but don't get, and subtract the gouge of inflation (which our government claims we don't have), we've lost another 5-6% minimum.

While Mr. Cain has some good ideas, this 9-9-9 idea is best left for the $9.99 pizza boxes.

The Major Media Sham last night, inappropriately called a "debate"
was a rather transparent attempt by the major media (MSNBC in this case)
to influence the minds of the viewers.Their aim, of course, is to "anoint"
the candidates they favor, while demeaning and casting aside those
    they seek to destroy.

It is the job of every "thinking" voter whether R, D, or other to analyze
what these major media lobbyists are doing and use that analysis to
spread the word to those unfortunate "followers" who need to get a
clear picture of the candidates, rather than the purposely warped and
skewed view they got from watching this "Shamdebate".

I guess it's my job as a political blogger to expose the major media
tactics for what they are. Hopefully this will give the readers of these
words some incentive to do more of their own anaylzing to see what
is being done by these major media lobbyists.

It is YOUR job as a reader to come up with some solutions to the problem
of this major media and do something about it. Word of mouth is a
very powerful tool in advertising and with the internet, this word of
mouth can be broadcasted around the world. Tell your friends and
relatives (and the world) to look at the major media and see them
for what they are. You don't have to ignore what they say or write,
but when you hear or read some of their "stuff", use a critical eye
and your own judgment to decide what is fact and what is fiction. - Frank
